What looks to be some of the more solid info on the Canon 7D Mark II has surfaced over at Canon Rumors for the rumored 24MP pro/prosumer camera. The 7D Mark II (or whatever it will be called) is believed to fit in the line-up as sort of a baby 1D X with an APS-C sensor.
It is expected to be announced at the end of Summer 2013 with immediate availability.
The specs below are based on one of 3 prototypes currently being tested.

Wow – this sounds like a phenomenal camera — I can only hope that Nikon has the same sort of camera up their sleeve at this price level. A slightly less capable camera based on the D800 or D4 with a pro body and controls would be fantastic.

Why spend more on a crop sensor camera than on a full-frame 6D?
catfish252 says
Because many people have deeply invested in ‘crop’ lenses, want the fps for sports, want the extra range that a crop sensor provides for wildlife photography, besides the fact it has many more features than the 6D offers. Just my take, for less than $200 extra you are going to get a lot more camera.
Stephen Cupp says
The auto focus system for starters. Plus for sports shooters typically the cropped sensor helps them.

Give up already!!!! First it was end of February, now end of Summer.
$500 more than 7D?????????
You people don’t know anything.
Just like 5D3 supposed to have 36mp sensor!!!!!
Enough is enough.

wait for the final results is the best course of action. This wholething about this and that is giving a headache. Where is my advil?
Randy says
No one will pay $2100 for this… Maybe $1100 would make it worth looking at…
Capt Obvious says
You’re joking, right? Did you even read the specs or are you just one of the forum trolls from Canon Rumors who would still complain even if the camera were free? $2100 is more than reasonable IF the specs are true. People said the same about the 5D Mark III and it couldn’t stay on the shelves when it was released. This will be no different.
