Adobe Creative Cloud Glitch Locks Out Users from Apps
Adobe is on a road to a most epic of fails. Imagine you have a deadline for delivering a project that is due in a few hours but your legally-purchased software won’t allow you to open it. That is the sad truth for users of Adobe’s Creative Cloud for the past day.
Due to a technical problem in the sign-in process, many users have been unable to use applications for which they pay a monthly subscription fee to Adobe. [Read more…]
Photoshop CC and Lightroom 5 for $9.99/mo Extended Again
I wish Adobe would just go ahead and make this a permanent deal, but for now the Photoshop Photography Program, which includes Photoshop CC and Lightroom 5, for $9.99/mo has been extended through May 31, 2014.
There are no limitations for prior software ownership to join at this rate (as there have been in the past). You can sign up for the Photoshop Photography Program here on Adobe’s website.
(At the time of this post, Adobe’s site still has the offer end date as March 31; however, I have official confirmation from Adobe that the deal is extended through May 31.)
Adobe Creative Cloud Declared Huge Success as it Surges to 1.84 Million Subscribers
Adobe released its 2014 first quarter financial results last week, revealing $1 billion in revenue for the quarter and nearly 2 million Creative Cloud subscribers. Adobe gained 405,000 subscribers in the first quarter alone for a total of 1,844,000 total subscribers and growing. [Read more…]
Photoshop Photography Program Extended (Again) Through Feb. 28
Adobe is beating this dead horse into the ground. I have lost count of how many times the Photoshop Photography Program has been extended. This time, however, the deal is only available for those who own CS3 or later products, but the price remains $9.99/mo. And, yes, I do actually think this is a good deal, but Adobe is killing me with the on again/off again routine.
The Photoshop Photography Program offers access to Photoshop CC and Lightroom 5 (plus respective feature updates and upgrades as they are available), 20GB of cloud storage and Behance ProSite, via Adobe Creative Cloud for $9.99/month as an annual subscription.
You can find more details here on Adobe’s website.
Using Adobe Camera Raw as a Smart Filter in Photoshop CC
Check out this video that shows how to use Camera Raw as a Smart Filter in Photoshop CC.
In this video, Julieanne Kost demonstrates how to take multiple exposures and combine them into a single 32-bit HDR file that can then be edited nondestructively using Adobe Camera Raw as a Smart Filter in Photoshop. In addition, you’ll discover how powerful using Camera Raw as a Smart Filter can be when working with layered files.
Premiere Pro CC Updated to Version 7.2.1
Adobe has released another update to Premiere Pro CC. This update, version 7.2.1, is primarily a bug fix update for the big December 2013 update.
Issues fixed in this update include:
- Intermittent Buzzing could occur on audio playback where audio transitions were present
- Reveal in project sometimes did not work in imported sequence when clips were present in the project
- Premiere Pro could occasionally crash on playback of certain multi cam assets
- Using matte cleanup tools in Ultra keyer could sometimes cause the top half of the image to disappear when paused in Open CL mode
- Autosave could sometimes interrupt playback.
- The AMD Radeon R9 290 Series has been added to the OpenCL supported card list
- Inserting a merged clip with in/out points via menu or command would insert the entire merged clip, not the in/out range
- Playing with preroll could sometime crash Premiere Pro
- When editing in Anywhere mode, adding synthetics would sometimes show a 10 digit number under the progress panel’s Name column
I also confirmed with Adobe that these fixes include a fix for the warning we previously received about an issue with XML imports. The warning never clearly stated the issue; however, I am assuming it is the “reveal in project” bug fix mentioned on the second point. Regardless, if you import from other projects or XMLs, it should be safe to update now.
You can download the update through the Creative Cloud app.
