The new IQ3 XF 100MP back also features a sensitivity range of ISO 50-12,800 and has a first curtain electronic shutter to reduce vibrations. It is designed to work hand-in-hand with Capture One Pro 9 for processing those massive 100MP 16-bit images.

I have wanted to get into medium format photography for a long time, but I simply cannot justify the costs to get in the door. Even the cheapest body that these digital backs would be compatible with run $5k+ (most are $7k+ or significantly more).
Was looking at one of the 645 systems awhile ago, but they are basically DSLRs with everything sealed and built-in (not upgradeable backs). Not exactly worth the cost either…
Maybe one day these will drop in price? Until then, maybe I’ll rent once or twice a year to mess around with…

How about a Hassy H body and a used Phase One back? Those can be found under $5k (combined) and will upgrade to higher-end backs when you are ready…
