I wonder how these truly compare to the quality output on the 312LEDs. Those lights are re-badged and released by MANY different manufacturers, including Ikan, Genaray, Polaroid, and VidPro.

(Note: The Amazon reviews of them are terrible, but these are the same lights that sell for over $300 from B&H under different names and have 4+ out of 5 star ratings.)
I have a set of Fotodiox branded 312’s and they come with barn doors, diffusion panel, and they’re decent enough for filling in when needed. Light, portable, and run off of batteries or AC power. Also picked up some softboxes for them and with that attached, they produce a very nice soft cast on faces. Slightly larger than these new models and a higher CRI, but look like they’re in the same type of “travel” case with identical accessories.
These new flapjack smaller lights may be quicker to setup than previous generations with the “full time” diffusion and no need for a softbox, but are they better? I guess it really depends on what type of shooting you’re doing. The reliance on only ONE battery vs. two will make them lighter for travel purposes.
I’ll consider them when looking to acquire additional lighting or have a need to replace one in the current set, but still may be picking up an LED ring light before these. Wish I could get the performance and output of the 576 style LEDs in a smaller/lighter form factor and more portable – I would use that set MUCH more if I could travel with them more easily.
