This week, Photography Bay has teamed up with Tiffen to give away one of its awesome Domke Next Generation Chronicle camera bags in the military ruggedwear color scheme.
The Next Generation Chronicle camera bag holds a DSLR with an attached lens, plus an unattached lens such as a 70-200mm f/2.8, two additional lenses, and a flash between the GearProtex customizable insert system. Additionally it can accommodate an iPad or similar tablet inside a padded, zippered sleeve at the front. There are several external pockets and pouches that let you haul a variety of accessories.
Previously, I reviewed the Chronicle’s smaller cousin, the Herald. These are well-built bags with a great sense of style. The best part about this Domke Next Generation Chronicle camera bag is that you might just pick it up for free.

The above video comes from a recent webinar that Tiffen put on with Richard Harrington to show off Tiffen Dfx 3. In the video, Harrington covers some color grading techniques in several different editors that use the Dfx 3 plugin and really shows off the capabilities of this solid plugin.
The more I use this plugin, the more I like it. It’s so very comprehensive and powerful for video, and quick for getting stylized looks from Lightroom on the photo side as well.
New features in version 5.0 include the following:
Share with the World: Photo fx and Photo fx Ultra now provide a number of ways to share enhanced or retouched images. Choose from Facebook, Flickr, Instagram, Twitter, Tumblr, the Sincerely Ship & Print service as well as Email, Print, Copy, and Open In.
Bring Your Favorite Photo fx Looks into Tiffen Dfx v3: Users can save their favorite Photo fx looks into presets and import into Tiffen Dfx 3. This amazing interoperability allows users to create a “look” anywhere and bring it into Tiffen’s world-class image editing suite for use in professional production.
Get the Look You Want Faster: The latest update to Photo fx and Photo fx Ultra provides faster processing for even quicker results.
Better Resolution Quality: Icons, sliders, and text take advantage of the latest iPad Retina display, resulting in much higher resolution controls than before. This is available in the Tiffen Photo fx Ultra version only.
Tiffen Dfx v3 is a suite of filters and effects that is available for popular video and photo applications as a plug-in or a standalone application. Over the past few months, I have been using the software suite primarily in Premiere Pro CS5.5. However, I have also touched on the standalone app and as well as the After Effects and Lightroom plug-in integration.
As with any software or plug-in, understanding the capabilities of it is paramount to fully utilizing the application to meet the needs of your workflow. I don’t pretend to have an exhaustive understanding of all that’s within Tiffen Dfx 3 at this point; however, I have used it enough to realize where it meets many of my needs and makes life easier in post-production.
