Transcend 16GB SDHC Card is $15.99 for Today Only

Amazon.com has posted a “Goldbox Deal of the Day” for the 16GB Transcend Class 10 SDHC card for $15.99.  These are generally considered to be a good deal at $20, so this is a very solid one.  Amazon is also throwing in free shipping without the need to hit the usual $25 minimum purchase.

The Class 10 rating means it has a minimum write speed of 10MB/s, which covers practically all of the current crop of HD video cameras that use SD cards (this includes DSLRs like the Canon 60D and Nikon D7000).  (Learn more about SD card speeds and ratings.)

SanDisk Memory Cards Get Big Price Drops

Just a couple of weeks ago, I priced the SanDisk Extreme 16GB CF cards at around $63 with a volume discount.  Those same cards are now $49.95 – even if you only buy one card.

SanDisk has announced a new 64GB Extreme Pro SDXC UHS-I card to complement the existing line of 8GB to 32GB UHS-I cards announced earlier this year.  With a max write speed of 90MB/s and 95MB/s read speed, the new 64GB UHS-I card blows away the Extreme Pro UHS-I cards that were announced in January, which clocked in at 45MB/s.
