The Magic Lantern team has released version 2.3 of its impressive Canon HDSLR enhanced firmware.  It’s reportedly more stable and more feature-packed than ever.

Magic Lantern v2.3 represents an important milestone – professionals from all around the world are already trusting it for their paid work. We can safely say it’s no longer a hack, but it’s strongly heading towards a solid piece of engineering that you can trust.

Canon DSLR + Printer Rebates: Basically Paying You to Take a Pro-grade Printer

In the latest round of Canon DSLR and Printer rebates, it looks like Canon has sweetened the deal with instant cash back on PIXMA Pro 9000 and Pro 9500 printers. The end result after mail-in rebates is a total rebate of $500 on a $450 printer (the PIXMA Pro9000 Mark II) or a $600 rebate on a $720 printer (the PIXMA Pro9500 Mark II).

Essentially, a PIXMA Pro9000 costs negative-$50 and Pro9500 costs $120 when purchased with a qualifying Canon DSLR.

Redrock Micro and Switronix Team Up for HDSLR Powered Rigs

Switronix and Redrock Micro have teamed up to deliver customized HDSLR rigs that take advantage of Switronix’s battery systems and Redrock Micro’s supports.  The Switronix powered rigs offer up to 6-times the runtime of standard DSLR batteries and can also be used to power on-board electronics like external LCD monitors.  Switronix offers battery connection cables for the Canon 5D MKII, Canon 7D, Canon 60D, Canon T2i, and Panasonic AG-AF100.

Panasonic G2 and G10 ISO and Noise Compared to Canon Rebel T2i

The Panasonic G2 and G10 are the latest and greatest Micro Four Thirds cameras from Panasonic.  They both feature a 12.1MP Live MOS image sensor and come packaged with a 14-42mm kit lens.  In short, I’ve been quite impressed with these two cameras during my review thus far.  It seems to me that Panasonic is a step or two ahead over the other players in the mirrorless camera market right now.
