Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera Gets RAW Recording Update

Blackmagic Design has released Blackmagic Camera 1.5 software for the Pocket Cinema Camera, which adds new 12-bit Log CinemaDNG RAW recording to the Pocket Cinema Camera, so users can now capture super wide dynamic range in a single file. This feature was promised when the camera was announced back at NAB 2013. You can find the update here on Blackmagic Design’s website.

Amazon has Corel AfterShot Pro available for Mac download for $12.99. AfterShot Pro is a Lightroom competitor that allows for RAW file processing and image management. I expect Adobe to drop the full version of Lightroom 5.2 any day now. It’s been a full month since the Lightroom 5.2 release candidate was made available and preliminary support for the 70D was included.

Those of you looking to work on your Canon 70D raw files can do so with the release candidate. Or, if you have Aperture 3, Apple has already made full support for the 70D available in it.
