Alongside the new full frame EOS 6D, Canon unveiled a pair of new printers – the PIXMA PRO-10 and PIXMA PRO-100.
These new models are built in the same vein of the flagship PIXMA PRO-1 that was released last fall. The new PRO-10 and PRO-100 feature a new “PRO Mode” that maps color gamut for optimum balance of brightness and saturation.
According to Canon this PRO Mode “helps adjust colors by taking into consideration the characteristics of human perception. The technology helps to create prints that accurately reflect the image as seen on a monitor without needing a high level understanding of color management.” Canon says that this PRO Mode should also be available as a firmware upgrade to the PIXMA PRO-1 in early 2013.
The PIXMA PRO-10 and PIXMA PRO-100 will retail for $699 and $499, respectively, when they hit the market (no word yet on when specifically that will be).

Canon recently launched several new photo printers, which include PIXMA Photo All-in-One (MG4220, MG3220, and MG2220) and SELPHY CP900 printers.
The MG4220 and MG3220 are wireless printers, while the MG2220 rounds out the low-cost end as a starter all-in-one printer. They are priced at $130, $80 and $70, respectively.
The SELPHY CP900 is a compact photo printer that can print 4×6 images. It runs $100.

The Polaroid Z2300 is a new instant digital cameras that spits out 2″ x 3″ prints directly from the camera using Polaroid’s ZINK paper. The Z2300 features a 10MP sensor and a 3-inch LCD.
Frankly, I find these Polaroid cameras and printers a lot of fun – even if they do get a little pricey on the printing side of things. I’ve used the Polaroid GL10 printer quite a bit and really like it for fun projects. As a casual camera, the Z2300 looks like it could strike the right chords.
Even the paper has come down in price with 50 packs at $24.99 and 30 packs at $14.99. The camera itself retails for $159.99 and is expected to ship August 15, 2012. Check availability in the Polaroid store and B&H Photo.
