Just last week, we saw a Nikon D4 surface on an online store, alleging that it was coming soon. Now, another site (Thai camera cafe) has jumped on the Nikon D4 bandwagon with a product page for the camera, as you can see from the screen shot above.

This is a little out of left field and little off the release calendar; however, I got a tip on it and the post went up fresh today. I think this is a little off-base since we just saw the Nikon D300s and D3000 released a couple weeks ago.
I think it’s more likely that the site is just fishing for attention, but that’s a juicy camera model, so I’ll bite. It’s been close to 2 years since the D3 came out; however, I still don’t think that’s long enough – at least not according to the Nikon DSLR Roadmap.
What do you think?
Nikon may have just had a huge cat get out of the bag. Leaks like this don’t happen very often; however, they do happen. If this info, which was posted on a Czech forum is legit, Nikon’s rumor mill is going to be rather boring for the next couple of years.
The forum poster lays out a number of Nikon DSLR bodies and lenses, along with purported release dates for 2009 and 2010. Here’s the summary version of the possibly leaked roadmap: [click to continue…]
Kamera & Bild passed along that Nikon has a couple of press conferences set for July 30 and August 4. K&B further alludes to the announcements of, not one, but two new DSLRs from Nikon.
We know that rumors of a Nikon D300s have been running rampant lately, so there’s one. What’s the other?
Some say a Nikon D4000 is in the works to replace the D60, as a non-video DSLR. Other rumors suggest a D4 or D3s (or some other refreshed version of the D3). Both rumors make a little sense.
Another possible explanation for the two dates would be a release of a plethora of point and shoot cameras, which seems to happen twice a year, at the first press conference. All the while, the second press conference is for the Nikon D300s and maybe a handful of lenses.
One thing’s for sure . . . expect plenty of leaks and more rumors between now and July 30.
Anyone else have word on what, when and where?

Could this be the next version of the Nikon D3 that popped up on the Nikon Germany website? Here’s a closer look:
What’s a Nikon D3 2 folder doing just below the Nikon D3 and D300 folders? A Nikon D3x, a different folder for the Nikon D3′s updated firmware, or just a spare folder for all the Nikon D3 stuff?
I dunno, but crunch time is closing in for the 24MP rumored camera. See this Nikon D3x rumor for the last word on the topic.
There are a handful of forum posters that actually have access to inside information. These elect few don’t tout their credentials. No, they quietly state facts, which are proven by the later release of new camera models.
Yesterday, one of those forum posters spoke to the coming Nikon full frame pro body:
A high pixel count pro body in 135 format, about 45 days to go for more details. :-)
That’s it. That’s all he needed to say. Jeff-c is generally on the money with leaks, predictions or whatever you want to call it.
Additionally, he’s not the only one calling for a big December announcement from Nikon – see here and here.
Better pinch those pennies, because Santa Claus is coming to town and he’s bringing a Nikon D3x or D4 along with him.
