The recently-leaked Sony A58 and NEX-3N are expected to be officially unveiled on Monday, Feb. 25, 2013. Firmed up specs have also leaked out now . . . leaving little to wonder about these cameras once official word comes out next week. [click to continue…]
The Sony NEX-3N is apparently coming pretty soon – based on these official images that leaked today.
These images show the NEX-3N equipped with the 16-50mm PZ (power zoom) lens that will take advantage of the zoom rocker switch that surrounds the shutter release. [click to continue…]
The rumored Sony A58 is expected to have a 20MP sensor when it arrives in the next couple of months to replace the current Sony A57, which has a 16MP ASP-C sensor. The Sony A57 retails for $700 for the body only and $800 with a kit lens. Expectations for the 20MP A58 would put it in the same neighborhood of price for the respective body and kit.
Additionally, the upcoming Sony NEX-3N is expected to feature the same 16MP sensor as found in the NEX-F3. The F3 retails for $600 with a kit lens (although it can be had for $500 right now thanks to instant rebates), so it would be expected to see the NEX-3N slide in at the same price point as it replaces the NEX-F3.
Other products expected to be unveiled from Sony sooner rather than later include a Zeiss 50mm f/1.4 at $1600+, a new 18-55mm II kit lens for Alpha cameras and a new 70-400mm G f/4.5-5.6 II in the $2500 price range.
The first image of the upcoming Sony NEX-3N has leaked out. The NEX-3N will serve as the successor the very solid NEX-F3. What’s apparent from the image is the growing reliance on power zoom lens as evidenced by the zoom rocker switch that surrounds the shutter release.
While the leaked image shows the NEX-3N equipped with the 16mm f/2.8 common kit lens, current power zoom lenses from Sony include the 16-50mm PZ and the 18-200mm PZ. I wouldn’t be surprised to see a more affordable PZ kit lens introduced with the NEX-3N. [click to continue…]
The next round of cameras coming from Sony are rumored to be entry-level models. Specifically, the mirrorless Sony NEX-3N is rumored to fill in the place of the current (and excellent) Sony NEX-F3.
Additionally, a pair of SLT Alpha models – the A38 and A58 – should replace the current A37 and A57. Both of the current models feature a 16.1MP APS-C sensor. [click to continue…]
