Leica M ‘Edition 60′ Rumored to Have No LCD

Rumors of an upcoming Leica M model have been circulating for awhile now. The most intriguing aspect of the rumors have been that the camera would not have an LCD rear panel for reviewing images and making adjustments in the camera’s menu system.

The Leica M Edition 60 supposedly appeared on Leica’s website for a short time, from which Leica Rumors captured the above screenshot.

Expect to see more on the Leica M Edition 60 in the coming days as we close in on Photokina 2014.

It also deletes the signature Leica red dot on the front of the camera in order to provide a more low-profile appearance for those shooting in public places. Leica Allegedly Rips Off AppCam for the New Leica T

The recently-introduced Leica T features a 16.5MP APS-C sensor and interchangeable lens mount, along with what looks to be a very polished touchscreen interface. 

It is that touchscreen interface that the software developers at AppCam take issue. According to a snark-heavy press release from AppCam, the Leica T’s operating system is a complete rip off of AppCam’s product. [Read more...]

Leica M Edition 100 Kit Features Film & Digital Cameras with 3 Lenses

In celebration of Leica’s 100th anniversary, the camera and lens maker has announced the Leica M ‘Edition 100′ kit, which features the Leica M-A film camera and the Leica M Monochrom digital camera. Additionally, the kit includes the Leica Summilux-M 28mm, 35mm and 50mm lenses, along with a black aluminum case.

The kit will be available exclusively as sets in Leica Stores and Boutiques in a limited run of 101 sets.
