LaCie Little Big Disk Thunderbolt SSD

LaCie has announced the latest model to join its Little Big Disk Thunderbolt Series. Built for video professionals, the LaCie Little Big Disk now includes SATA III SSDs that boast speeds up to 635MB/s read speeds – a 33 percent increase from the previous model. For comparison, I got 231MB/s read speeds out of the WD Thunderbolt Duo drive (still very fast).

LaCie eSATA Hub

LaCie just dropped a couple of new Thunderbolt devices this week at CES 2012 – a 4-6TB drive and an eSATA hub (above).  Nick had a chance to get a closer look at the drives with Kristin Hunt from LaCie.  Check out the video below for more.

LaCie Network Space 2

LaCie has introduced its Network Space 2 storage solution in a 1TB flavor.  The Network Space 2 is a Network Attached Storage, or NAS, drive, which is intended to be as simple to use as an ordinary external hard drive.

The Network Space 2 also has a USB 2.0 host connection, which lets you import files from a USB device (such as your digital images) without the need of a computer.  More details in LaCie’s press release below. [click to continue…]
