The Canon PowerShot G12 retails for $429; however, B&H has it for $299 as on of their Black Friday specials. I personally own this camera and paid $500 for it a couple years ago, and I think it’s a great point and shoot camera with some solid pro features. (Read my Canon G12 Review.)

It looks like Canon may be announcing a true successor to the PowerShot G12 next week prior to Photokina 2012. Recall that the Canon G1 X was announced earlier this year at CES 2012, causing speculation that the G-series may move to a larger sensor format.

The G12 has dropped in price to $389 (from $419).
A $150 instant rebate is available for the Panasonic GH2. Better hurry though, it expires on July 14.
