I am still super bummed about Fujifilm’s decision to stop production of FP-100C packfilm. It’s the last peel-apart instant film on the market. Once it is gone, an entire category of instant film cameras become obsolete. However, The Impossible Project, which saved Polaroid 600 instant film, is trying to save peel-apart packfilm as well. Amazon has a great deal on the Fuji Instax Mini 8 for just $49 right now. These usually run closer to $60 but are available in several colors for $49. Amazon has been in and out of stock with the Mini 8 some lately (it’s the most popular camera on Amazon), so I don’t expect this to last long. Check it out here on Amazon.com.

Chinese lens maker Zhongyi Optics has updated its Mitakon Speedmaster 35mm f/0.95 with a new Mark II version. The good news is that it is smaller and lighter but ZY Optics also claims it offers drastic improvement in sharpness and better control of chromatic aberration.
As with its predecessor, this is designed as a lens for mirrorless cameras with APS-C sensors. It is available for Sony E, Fuji X and Canon EOS-M mounts. It looks like ZY Optics swapped the Micro Four Thirds mount on the Mark I for the Canon EOS-M mount on the Mark II model. More good news is that the price remains $599 – like its predecessor.
