New rumors point to the launch of a Fujifilm X-Series mirrorless camera aimed toward the entry-level market. The new camera is expected to be smaller than the Fuji X-E1 and won’t feature a viewfinder. [click to continue…]

Fuji Press Conference

Fujifilm has a press conference scheduled for January 7, 2013 (next Monday) just prior to CES 2013. Photo Rumors is reporting that the Fuji X100s and X20 will be announced that day and will both be similar to the X100 and X10, respectively.

The Fuji X100s should contain the same leaf shutter as found in the X100, which is great news. The X100s should also offer focus peaking as an additional feature to aid in manual focusing.

I’ll have more on this from CES 2013 (hopefully live).

Fuji X200 Coming to CES 2013?

It looks like the excellent Fuji X100 is finally getting a proper successor. A recent article on the Fuji X-E1, written by Tony Bridge (who is sponsored by Fujifilm), mentioned that the replacement for the X100 is due out “early next year.” Given Fuji’s historically solid showing at CES, there’s a good chance that the next X-series camera with a leaf shutter will show up at CES 2013 in the first few days of January. Fuji XF1

The Fuji XF1 is the latest in the X-Series lineup and set to be announced later tonight (or early morning).  Most of the details on the new camera, however, have already leaked out via Samy’s Camera (although Samy’s appears to have removed those specs as of now).

The Fuji XF1 will feature a 12MP 2/3-inch CMOS sensor and optical image stabilization on its 4x zoom lens (25-100mm equivalent).  The lens offers a variable aperture of f/1.8-4.9 . . . so, very bright on the wide end.  Other features include full HD video capture and 360-degree panoramic images.

Some great news is that the XF1 will offer RAW capture.  Earlier spec leaks/rumors did not mention RAW capture, which cause some concern among enthusiasts.  So, kudos to Fuji for putting this important feature in this new X-Series shooter. [click to continue…]

Fuji XF1

Even though it was not announced alongside the new Fuji X-E1 yesterday, the Fuji XF1 compact camera has largely leaked out with plenty of images and specs to share.

Fuji XF1

The Fuji XF1 is a compact camera with a retro styling that puts it in the same vein as the new X-E1 and X-Pro1 mirrorless cameras.  The lens can apparently be zoomed using the manual control ring around the lens barrel.

Check out the rest of the features below. [click to continue…]
