Benro has announced a number of new video tripods and fluid heads, as well as a pair of monopods equipped with fluid heads.

The new tripods are available in aluminum or carbon fiber.  The tripods and monopods are available as kits with the S-Series heads included, along with a padded travel case.  They come in three weight load capacities – 5.5lbs, 8lbs, and 13.2lbs.  The sliding center column includes a 60mm bowl for fine tuning camera position. Manfrotto 502HD Pro Video Heads

Manfrotto has introduced a couple of new 502HD tripod heads, the MVH502A and the MVH502AH.

The MVH502A is equipped with a 75 mm ball base, while the MVH502AH comes with a flat base with 3/8″ thread. Both are designed for video use and can support up to 13.2 lbs.  They feature Manfrotto’s bridge architechture, as well as a variable Fluid Drag System with adjustable cartridges.

The 502A retails for $225, while the 502AH retails for $200.  Both are available at B&H Photo and Amazon.com.

 

VariZoom VZ-TK75A Video Tripod Review

The VariZoom VZ-TK75A tripod and fluid head is a nice entry-level video tripod. Manfrotto 700RC2 Fluid Video Head Review

The Manfrotto 700RC2 is a basic, fluid head head for use with video cameras up to 5.5 pounds.  At around $90 street price, this is an entry-level head with little in the way of creature comforts.

The 700RC2 still gives you a quick release plate, and it has a pan arm rosette on the right side of the head for adjusting the angle of the solid pan arm included with the head.  The 700RC2 also has separate pan and tilt friction locks.
