With the continual decline of film’s popularity, it’s great to see Fuji keeping the instant film train rolling. The Fuji Instax cameras certainly have their niche (they’re one of the most searched for products on Photography Bay), and the new Instax Mini 50S should be a hot item this holiday shopping season. Canon Rebel Kits at Amazon as Good as Most Black Friday “Doorbusters”
As I have been perusing through the Black Friday ads this week, the one thing I’ve noticed is how underwhelming most of the DSLR “doorbuster” deals have been. And how Amazon’s ordinary prices are inline with these Black Friday deals.
For instance, almost every major brick & mortar retailer is selling the Canon Rebel T3 at $479 as some kind of huge deal. It was $478 on Amazon earlier this week and is $468 at the time of this post.
Amazon is offering a free basic backpack and an 8GB memory card with several Canon Rebel kits (e.g., T3, T2i, T3i), most of which are already cheaper than what’s you’ll find if you happen to make it into a store at 4AM and find them in stock. Throw in the Transcend 8GB card and basic camera backpack, and you’ve got all the more reason to stay inside on Black Friday.
Stay on top of all the photo gear Black Friday and Cyber Monday Deals here.

More Canon Video Camera Rumors for Nov. 3
Speculation surrounding Canon’s November 3 announcement continues to be a big topic of conversation (just what Canon wanted, right?). Canon Rumors received another tip with a couple of vague specs.
The tipster claims a video camera with a Super 35 sensor (roughly APS-C sized), compact flash recording and 3 new lenses announced alongside the camera. While that’s not much to go on, the new lenses makes a lot of sense – particularly in light of my review of Canon’s recent patent application for video-optimized EF lenses that feature an aperture ring.
One month from today, we’ll know for sure. In the mean time, stay tuned for the latest. And if you have any insight into what’s coming next feel free to drop a line via the contact form and let me know.
