The new Sony A6300 started shipping today. B&H confirms that pre-orders have started going out to customers and will continue to fill orders as new stock arrives.
We now know that Tamron’s new stabilized 85mm f/1.8 Di VC USD lens retails for $749 and will be available by the end of this month for Canon and Nikon DSLRs. A Sony A-mount option is also coming along shortly but won’t feature the internal image stabilization since A-mount cameras offer sensor-based stabilization.

The A6300, which features a newly developed 24.2MP APS-C sensor and uses Sony’s 4D Focus system and shoots 4K video, is available for $998 with a ship date of March 10 here at B&H Photo.
The Sony FE 24-70mm f/2.8 GM lens is available for $2198 with a ship date of March 31 here at B&H Photo.
The Sony FE 85mm f/1.4 GM lens is available for $1798 with a ship date of March 31 here at B&H Photo.
Fuji has bumped the release date of its new X-Pro2 from February 18 to early March. Fuji’s brief notice about the release date slip only cites a delay in production. Hopefully, this is only a couple weeks more waiting for the eager Fuji shooters out there.
The new Tokina AT-X 14-20mm f/2 PRO DX lens is now available for pre-order with a solid price tag of $899 and should begin shipping in February.
Rivaling the Sigma 18-35mm f/1.8 in the “wide & bright” category, the new lens is the first Tokina zoom lens with a max f/2 aperture. It is constructed of 13 lens elements in 11 groups and features a 9-blade aperture and an 82mm filter size. Check it out here at B&H Photo.
Apple’s iPad Pro went on sale this week. The iPad Pro is a 12.9-inch tablet with a 2732 x 2048 screen resolution.
The iPad Pro can also use the new $99 Apple Pencil for a variety of drawing and writing apps. Retail prices for the iPad Pro start at $799 for the 32GB WiFi-only model and go up to $1079 for the 128GB model with WiFi and 4G connectivity.
