Nikon 10-100mm and 6.7-13mm Lenses Coming to CES?

Along with the Nikon 1 J3 and S1 mirrorless cameras, it looks like Nikon will be dropping a pair of new lenses for its 1 Series mirrorless cameras at CES 2013. The Nikon 1 Nikkor 10-100mm f/4-5.6 and 1 Nikkor 6.7-13mm f/3.5-5.6 lenses are expected to be announced alongside the aforementioned cameras.

The 10-100mm f/4-5.6 will provide a 27-270mm equivalent zoom range for Nikon 1 cameras, while the 6.7-13mm f/3.5-5.6 lens will offer a 18-35mm equivalent zoom range.

Canon France Teases New Camera in “Creativity with a twist” Ad

Canon France posted what appears to be a new ad campaign teaser for what looks like it could be a new video camera. Along with the above ad, Canon France posted the following message:

Soon, we will share information that will change the way you look at the world…

With CES 2013 just around the corner, we should know soon enough. Based on the way the girl is holding her hand up in the teaser ad, it seems like this should be some sort of palm-sized video camera with an articulating (or twisting) display. [Read more...]

2 New Nikon Mirrorless Cameras Due at CES 2013

Nikon continues to push its 1 Series mirrorless system, and it looks like CES 2013 will be busy with a pair of new 1 Series camera – the Nikon 1 J3 and Nikon 1 S1.

According to Nikon Rumors, the Nikon 1 J3 will sport a 14MP sensor and otherwise be a slight bump in specs over the recently announced Nikon 1 J2. Additionally, the Nikon 1 S1 appears to be a new entry-level 1 Series model that sports a 10MP image sensor. This will place the J-series as a mid-level model and the V-series will remain the high-end model in the lineup, which is currently filled by the Nikon 1 V2.

Fuji X200 Coming to CES 2013?

It looks like the excellent Fuji X100 is finally getting a proper successor. A recent article on the Fuji X-E1, written by Tony Bridge (who is sponsored by Fujifilm), mentioned that the replacement for the X100 is due out “early next year.” Given Fuji’s historically solid showing at CES, there’s a good chance that the next X-series camera with a leaf shutter will show up at CES 2013 in the first few days of January. Polaroid appears to be set to launch a new mirrorless camera at CES 2013, the iM1386, that will be powered by the Android operating system and bear a striking stylistic resemblance to the Nikon 1 J2. New Canon EF-S Lens Rumored for First Half of 2013

Canon Rumors has info that Canon will bring some new EF-S lenses for its APS-C format cameras during the first half 0f 2013 to go along with the rumored Canon 7D Mark II.

Rumored lenses include an EF-S zoom fisheye lens, as well as a new macro IS lens. As noted by CR, the EF-S 18-200mm IS lens is due for a replacement and would be a logical choice to get Canon’s new STM focus motor to play nice with video AF on entry-level DSLRs like the Canon Rebel T4i and its eventual successor.

Nikon D5200 Not Coming to the US Until 2013

The Nikon D5200 was announced yesterday throughout Europe, Asia and Australia; however, Nikon USA has remained silent.  It now appears that Nikon USA will not announce the D5200 until CES 2013 in January, which will give Nikon a shiny new DSLR to show off at the massive consumer trade show.

Accordingly, those of you hoping to get your hands on the D5200 in time for the holidays will just have to wait a little longer.  In the mean time, there’s sure to be some killer deals on the Nikon D5100 as it nears its end-of-life.
