Interesting… I have often found myself rather intimidated by Ps.. it's just so big and, in my opinion, unintuitive. But I would like to start making use of it.
Besides this book focused on layers do you (or anyone else out there) have any recommendations for a photography-oriented Ps book? I'm on CS6 if that helps.

It's been a few years since I've read one of Scott Kelby's books, but he has a series that is Photoshop for photographers. (I think he's got one for every version of PS that's been released in the past several years.) It's great at introducing you to the tools that are most useful to photographers. Layers is one of the big tools though…
