My Thoughts
Frankly, this is what Canon should have released two years ago. Canon is late to the game again. Hopefully, this will be perform above and beyond the high expectations I have for it and make it worth the wait. I just hope Canon doesn’t price it out of the arena of the competition. I want one; however, I’m not going to pay the premium for the Canon name if they go stupid on pricing.
We should know in a couple days.

As an RX owner, I share your initial comments. Very late to the game and didn’t even bring an evf.

Would welcome it if it puts pressure on Sony to bring their prices down. I find £700 to spend on a 1″ sensor compact quite unpalatable not matter how good it was. Would love something in the £450-500 range, and don’t say a version 1 RX100!

Ditto my wife has an RX 100 II and this is an interesting competitor. A lot of ifs here, price, video quality, mic input, EVF? I am looking for my own RX 100 equivalent and will look this over. There are lots of choices now, nikon has priced themselves out of the market, Sony is setting the pace, Panny has the LX 100 plus thenRX7 replacement coming. Chikon can’t afford to be stogy or stupid.
