Sigma 18-35mm f/1.8 DC HSM

Holy cow! What a lens for APS-C shooters if this is for real.

The Sigma 18-35mm f/1.8 DC HSM lens appears to have leaked out ahead of an official announcement. The lens would be a boon to Nikon D7100 and Canon 7D shooters if this turns out to be real. With the crop factor taken into account, we would be looking at a field of view equivalent of a 27-52.5mm lens on a full frame camera.

And that’s at a constant f/1.8 aperture throughout the range! [click to continue…]

Sigma 120-300mm F2.8 DG OS HSM

The previously-delayed Sigma 120-300mm f/2.8 DG OS HSM lens has a newly listed ship date of May 15, 2013. It’s $3600, but it’s a constant f/2.8 throughout the zoom range. It is a beast of a lens. Hit the links below for more details.

Sigma Lenses at CES 2013

Sigma’s new line of lenses are looking pretty slick. I’m currently testing the new 17-70mm f/2.8-4 with the Nikon D7100 (a promising combination); however, I got to take a closer look at it and some other lenses, including the new 120-300mm f/2.8, at CES 2013. [click to continue…]

 Sigma-30mm-DN-640x475

Sigma’s refreshed Micro Four Thirds and NEX primes, the 30mm F2.8 DN and 19mm F2.8 DN lenses, will begin shipping later in March for $199 each.

These new lenses are priced the same as their predecessors and should be solid additions to mirrorless kits – particularly the NEX versions due to the limited selection of available lenses thus far. I own the 30mm in the older version in NEX mount  and have been more than happy with the performance it delivered at the $199 price point.

You can order the new, improved versions from B&H at the below links.
