I’ve been flying Yuneec’s Q500 Typhoon 4K quadcopter for several months. It is the total package from what you want and expect from a drone for the serious consumer. I’m a huge fan and all-aboard the Yuneec train.
I was introduced to Yuneec in April 2015 at NAB and got the chance to try out the Q500 series last fall. This review is long overdue but the recent price drops across the Typhoon line make them more attractive than ever and have nudged me to spread the word about this great little drone.
The flight and image capture experience is very similar to what you get from a DJI Phantom series drone. The biggest and most important difference for me is the included ST10+ transmitter from Yuneec. [Read more…]
B&H has the SanDisk 128GB Ultra UHS-I SDXC card for $44.54. As a UHS-I Class 10 card, this will work well for HD video capture and that high storage capacity will store a ton of compressed HD footage that most camcorders and DSLRs capture. Check it out here at B&H Photo.

Amazon has a great deal on the Fuji Instax Mini 8 for just $49 right now. These usually run closer to $60 but are available in several colors for $49. Amazon has been in and out of stock with the Mini 8 some lately (it’s the most popular camera on Amazon), so I don’t expect this to last long. Check it out here on Amazon.com.

The Canon EOS C500 4K cinema camera has dropped from $15,999 to $9,999, which is a solid price considering that it launched for $30,000 in 2012 and it is a 10-bit 4K RAW camera that is almost ready to shoot out of the box.
Sure, Canon is rumored to launch a new EOS Cinema camera that shoots 8K video around NAB next month, but it won’t be under $10K and it likely won’t be on shelves for a few months anyway. Check out the discounted EOS C500 in EF or PL mounts here at B&H Photo.
