The new Panasonic DC-G9 is a Micro Four Thirds camera sports a 20.3MP sensor and features an 80MP High-Resolution Shot mode that uses slight movement of the sensor to combine successive shots. The G9 also offers the ability to shoot up to 60 frames per second in AF-S mode or 20 frames per second in AF-C mode. While these features combine for a great still image machine, the G9 also captures 4K/60p video.

Finally, a photography-centric camera.

TC, I’m still waiting… waiting… waiting to see a BSI-sensor, value for money photography-centric Sony APS-C body to replace/update my tiny [FF A7-series complementing] A5000/LCDVF: quite stripped down, sure, but still preferred to A6000 for overall low-ISO *stills* image quality & rendering [+ an almost new Canon M5 acquisition now replacing M3 for the kind of practical, everyday, ultracompact, ultralight, quality primes-centric photography kit not possible w/ Sony APS-C and that mixed bag lens selection)… sigh.
The fast enough Canon mirrorless stuff renders my own primes-centric, aging m4/3 Olympus kit entirely superfluous (as I have FF + crop DSLRS for infrequent & only just basic action photography needs… don’t need fancy there… just need FF or APS-C rendering & tonality).
Too many cameras, too few RIGHT lenses for on-foot primes-centric landscape/ cityscape/ nature/ & high-IQ ‘travel’ shooting. Again… sigh.
Maybe you can relate.
TC says
Yeah, I guess. I’m a one/at-most-two lens guy, but 90% of the time I’m fine with just my aging A7r and the Zeiss 35mm I got it with. What I’m personally waiting for is better power management and controls, i.e. a small FF digital ICL camera whose state I can know with a glance. A classic A7-size body with a small e-ink or whatever display on the left side showing aperture/shutter speed/battery/whatever you like on it would be welcome. Instant wake-up and a nicer shutter sound/feel would make it just about perfect IMHO.
