NEXTO DI unveiled the ND2901 portable memory card backup device at NAB 2014. The new ND2901 is intended to replace NEXTO DI’s previous entry-level backup device and is compatible with CF and SD cards, including the more recent SDXC standard.
It features ExFAT support so that you can copy a 4GB or larger file and can preview both RAW and JPEG files on the built-in 1.44″ LCD. The ND2901 also has a host USB 2.0 port, from which you can sync files to an external hard drive for even more redundancy. With the host port, there is no need to have a computer connected to the ND2901 in order to sync to external drives. The ND2901 also includes a USB 3.0 port for connecting the device to a computer.
It has a battery life of 90 minutes, which allows you to backup roughly 300GB of data on a single charge. You can charge the device with an AC adapter or USB cable.
The NEXTO DI ND2901 is available with 500GB, 750GB and 1TB versions with prices ranging from $399.99 to $499.99. Check out all the versions here at B&H Photo.

Love it!
Little on the expensive side as you can get an entire laptop for half the price but i guess that’s what you have to pay for the form factor.
Also, topping out at 1TB is a little small. 128GB cards are pretty common these days and that is only 7 card dumps. I’m guessing that’s because it will be a 1.8″ HDD, move up to 2.5″ would be nice and 3.5″ might be getting too big but 6TB (even 8TB coming out soon) could be a real RAW shooter’s big photo shoot dream.
