Along with the Nanopole Stand and Snap Tilthead, Manfrotto also launched at NAB 2014 a cool little adapter designed to mount to virtually any r0d-based cinema camera rig. The Pico Clamp will clamp onto any rod with a diameter between 8mm and 15mm (the standard rod size is 15mm).
This allows you to add cameras, lights, audio recorders, mics or any other accessory you can attach via a standard 1/4″ or 3/8″ screw to a variety of locations on your cinema rig. The clamp will hold up to a 4.4lbs payload on a vertical axis; however, it can me oriented in any direction with lighter accessories.
There are two holes on top of the clamp to receive either end of the 1/4″ and 3/8″ reversible mounting screw, which means there are no extra parts to carry around or lose to make the clamp work. To mount the Pico Clamp, you just twist the big red knob until it tightens around the rod you are mounting it to.
The Manfrotto Pico Clamp retails for $29.99 each. Check it out here at B&H Photo.
