Lensbaby is taking its selective focus lenses to the iPhone for the first time with the new LM-10 Sweet Spot lens.
The LM-10 Sweet Spot lens attaches magnetically to the iPhone and is compatible with the iPhone 4s, 5, 5s and 5c. It delivers a single spot of sharp focus in images while it gradually blurs toward the outside of the frame.
Along with the LM-10, Lensbaby is including a free iPhone app that is built for the best experience with the LM-10. Due to the optical design of the lens, the image will be upside down when shot with most other camera apps. The Lensbaby app automatically flips the image right-side up, and lets the photographer move the sweet spot of focus around the image to match focus with the perfect composition.
The Lensbaby LM-10 Sweet Spot lens will be sold exclusively on Kickstarter starting today for a 30-day funding campaign. Future post-campaign sales will be available through Lensbaby.com and other online retailers. Early bird offers have the lens priced at $40 each, while the “Kickstarter special price” for the non-limited purchase options is $50 per lens through the campaign ending on May 2. No word on pricing for when the LM-10 eventually hits retailers outside of Kickstarter.
Lensbaby also confirmed that it has several other mobile products in development.
