On June 17th, 2013, the Mimi Foundation in collaboration with Leo Burnett France, invited 20 cancer patients to participate in a unique makeover experience. The subjects were asked to keep their eyes closed for the duration of the makeover. When the makeover was complete, photographer Vincent Dixon stood on the other side of a one-way mirror to capture their reaction as they saw it for the first time.
A 60 page book containing Dixon’s photographs was published bearing the name of of the project ‘If only for a second’. Along with the two images is a time stamp down to the exact second that each subject forgot about their disease.
