Ricoh has unveiled the WG-4 rugged, compact camera. This camera line previously belonged to Pentax (see, e.g., Pentax WG-3); however, it will now be part of Ricoh’s line of cameras.
The Pentax branding will remain intact for all of the companies interchangeable cameras and lenses. It’s just the Pentax compact cameras that are getting rebranded as Ricoh models.
The Ricoh WG-4 features a 16MP CMOS sensor, 25-100mm equivalent zoom and 1080/30p video capture. As a rugged camera, the WG-4 is water, dust, crush, shock and coldproof. A GPS version is also available.
The digital microscope mode on the WG-4 features 6 LED lights around the lens barrel that allow you to light up subjects at a very short distance from the camera lens.
The WG-4 GPS retails for $379.95 and the WG-4 retails for $329.95. Both models will be available in March 2014. Check them out here at B&H Photo.
