The Canon G1 X was a bit of an odd bird when announced a couple years back at CES 2013 with its larger sensor (still not quite APS-C sized) and slow lens at f/5.8 max aperture on the telephoto end. Still, it looks like the camera was successful enough that Canon may announce a new model at CP+ next month.
Rumored specs for the Canon G1 X Mark II include the following:
- Similar design to the G1 X but with a slightly longer lens
- DIGIC 6 image processor
- 24-120mm f/2.8-5.8 lens
- 20.2MP 1.5″ CMOS sensor
- New “real image” optical zoom viewfinder
- 3.0″ LCD touch screen with 922,000 dots

We can get more of these P&S’s but not a good mirror-less competitor.
These must be hot overseas cause in the USA I’ve never seen someone using one. Too expensive for the P&S crowd, but not enough features for the photographer crowd.

Who would buy this instead of the Sony RX10? It might be cheaper, but still…
