A couple of the rumors floating around for quite some time now have put it with either a 20MP sensor (like the one found in the Canon 70D) and a 24MP sensor (previously unseen). Now, a new rumor, which seems to make sense of these conflicting rumors, puts both sensors in various prototypes of the Canon 7D Mark II that are believed to be floating around in the wild.
The most recent spec list for the 7D Mark II with 24MP sensor is below.
- ~24MP sensor with Dual Pixel CMOS AF
- Auto-Focus system similar to the EOS 5D Mark III (61 points), possibly the same as 5D3
- High frame rate, 10-12 fps
- “high grade” weather sealing, like Canon’s professional DSLRs
- Dual Digic V+ processor
- Single card slot
- WiFi & GPS
- Innovative video features
- Price around $2000
- Very good ISO performance

Canon 5D mark 3 is the best camera all time. 7D Mark II with 24MP is not a great camera for professional photographers

I have used Canon 5d mk 2 and Canon 6D and now I am waiting for the Canon mirrorless cameras to come out and see how they perform against Sony. Have been using Canon all these years and have been quite happy but now looking forward to the the newer mirrorless models from Canon :)
