Panasonic has unleashed an new superzoom point-and-shoot camera, the Lumix FZ70, with a massive 60x zoom reach that is equivalent to a 20-1200mm lens on a 35mm camera.
The FZ70 also features a 16.1MP backside illuminated sensor and 1080/60i HD video capture. Of course, with that much zoom range, the FZ70 features optical image stabilization to help reduce camera shake blur at those long-reaching focal lengths. The FZ70 offers a sensitivity range of ISO 100-6400 and features both an EVF and a 3″ LCD.

Is great news however is this is the end of those high expensive lens like $17k 800 mm Nikon lens and many others brands in market.
So if this camera cost less then $400 did it have a quality as same as a highend one.?
Brett Lefrere says
No. It will never ever match the quality of the pro lenses. So many compromises in this point and shoot cameras lens. Over half the images will be blurry and mushy. Better to walk closer with this than zoom in.
UG says
This isn’t intended to replace a pro lens… its a big lens strapped to a p&s for those times when moving closer isn’t an option. There’s definitely a market for this and I’m sure it will do well for those that need it.

This lens will be exrememly poor in quality and usability.
Who on earth can use 1200mm lens handheld at f/5.9.
Who wants or needs 1200mm who isnt a pro?
Who even wants 60x zoom? As focal range increases, quality is sacrificed. I thought 10x meant inevitable poor quality. Imagine what it’ll be like at 60x…
This is silly.
