Adorama has launched a new HDSLR viewfinder under its in-house Flashpoint brand. The Flashpoint Swivi offers 3x magnification for LCDs on HDSLRs. Essentially, this is a similar design to the popular Zacuto Z-Finder – albeit targeted at a more entry-level audience.
The Swivi attaches to HDSLRs with 3-inch LCDs via a mounting plate that screws into the camera’s 1/4-20 tripod mount. The magnified eye-piece flips up for viewing the LCD at 1:1 magnification while the housing continues to serve as a hood for the display.
The Swivi retails for $150; however, it is currently available with an instant rebate for $120. Check it out here at Adorama.

I might be stupid, but I dont see the point of using a viewfinder on a analog camera ;)
For video. Many DSLR’s will not auto focus in video mode. The screens are too small to follow focus correctly in many instances.
