Along with the Nikon 1 J3 and S1 mirrorless cameras, it looks like Nikon will be dropping a pair of new lenses for its 1 Series mirrorless cameras at CES 2013. The Nikon 1 Nikkor 10-100mm f/4-5.6 and 1 Nikkor 6.7-13mm f/3.5-5.6 lenses are expected to be announced alongside the aforementioned cameras.
The 10-100mm f/4-5.6 will provide a 27-270mm equivalent zoom range for Nikon 1 cameras, while the 6.7-13mm f/3.5-5.6 lens will offer a 18-35mm equivalent zoom range.

Buying and choosing a lens for a digital camera is almost like buying a camera. In days gone by, you knew just what you were buying. For example, if you wanted a 200 or 300 mm lens, that’s what you got. You looked at the max. F/stop…say F/2.8 or F/4 and you made a disission as to how much it cost, and that was that. The F/4 200 was X amount of dollars, and the F/2.8 200 was a bit more, so you made the disission. The 300mm cost the same as the 200mm F/2.8 but at a different store. But now, well a 50mm isn’t 50 anymore, unless you have a full frame camera. And those cameras are heavey. What do you have to say?
