Samyang is bringing the new T-S 24mm f/3.5 ED AS UMC lens to market for Canon, Nikon, Pentax and Sony mounts. The new tilt-shift lens covers full frame sensors. It sports two aspherical elements and two extra dispersion elements.
From Samyang: “Tilt-Shift function in the Samyang T-S 24mm f/3.5 ED AS UMC allows for smooth and fine adjustment of the focal plane by an angle of +/-8.5 and enables parallel shift of the optical axis by +/-12 mm. To make Tilt-Shift function even more seamless, both the lens mount and the Tilt-Shift section may be rotated on the optical axis. The Tilt-Shift section may be rotated left by 90 degrees (with 30 degree adjustment), while mount of the lens may be rotated both in left and right direction by 90 degrees (with 30 degree adjustment).”
The Samyang T-S 24mm f/3.5 ED AS UMC lens will be available later in 2012. No word yet on pricing.

Wow… Definitely looking forward to this. The Canon T/S Lenses are pretty expensive and really don’t offer anything over this except for the glass. Judging by past examples of Samyang (Rokinon, etc.), I’d assume that this lens would be on par with them and deliver more than adequate results in terms of color, contrast and sharpness.
Depending on the price, this might be something that every architectural photographer would want to pick up to have in the bag…

Hello Matt:
Responding from NYC. I too have been hoping for a quality Tilt and Shift 24mm lens for my Sony NEX 7. I have the A mount adapter.
I have read many of the pr posts on this lens. No one as of yet has a copy of the lens from what I have read for testing. I’d like to see both real time photos and scientific lab testing as to its parameters. Samyang has not even set pricing from everything I read and no one B&H or Adorama have it listed. They may not have started shipping just yet. They are creating the hype first to boost interest and sales.
Like you I to am very interested but, I’d like to see some hands on reviews before I plunk down a $1,000+ for this lens. I loved the first Nikon tilt/shift lens when it came out in the early ’70. That to was a lot of money back then as well and as a student I just could not afford it. Nikon created the first lens of this type from what I know. I looked around the internet for a used Nikon F model of that vintage and just could not find one.
From the photos on the internet the fit and finish look very good. Lets hope that they were not Photoshop images. Like you I am seriously thinking about reaching deep into my pockets to buy thjs baby.
