Canon Instant Rebates Fall 2011

Canon is offering instant rebates on lenses and Speedlites up to $170 off through November 23.

Also, there are several Canon PowerShot cameras with rebates at Amazon through Oct. 29.

GoPro HD HERO2

GoPro has stepped up its game again with the latest GoPro HD HERO2.  The new HD HERO2 offers a number of different resolutions and frame rates for video, as well as providing 11MP still image capture, an external mic input and a whole lot more.

Panasonic Lumix

In a Lumix campaign earlier this year, Panasonic touted in commercials like the one below that “Lumix cameras make amazing photos easy.”

Does the presentation of the commercial go too far to snub photographers (like Nikon recently did), or is it just clever marketing on Panasonic’s part?

It looks like the folks over at Intelligent Assistance have figured out a way to translate FCP X projects into FCP 7 timelines.  Project X₂7 is a $50 XML translator that takes your FCP X XML file and translates it into something that FCP 7 can understand.  Once in FCP 7, you can then take your project to a number of different applications, including Premiere Pro, which is the gateway to Dynamic Link with After Effects and other Adobe apps.
