P+S TECHNIK’s new PS-Cam X35 is out.  It’s a serious piece of cinema gear from Germany that shoots 1080p video at up to 450fps.

PS-Cam X35 Key Specs

  • Super 35 CMOS Sensor
  • Global Shutter
  • PS-IMS Lens Mount
  • 24-60fps via direct HD-SDI out
  • 1-450fps (continuously adjustable)
  • 4:2:2 10-bit uncompressed
  • 4:4:4 10-bit uncompressed (option planned)
  • 12-bt RAW uncompressed (option planned)
  • 18GB internal memory

It’s also not cheap – at €58,000.

It’s cheaper than a Red, and does the same things. A redone package, which doesn’t include everything is $56K, while Epic is $73 or something like that.

Give me a break Mr. Jannard

No it doesn’t do the sake thing. The resolution is much lower than the Epic or the One.

..since for “just” $65,000 you have the new F65 …I think that this german camera is a bit outdated ..but from the start..it’s maybe a camera of 3 years ago, at this price..

This camera does 1-450 fps without cropping the sensor, meaning you can actually get wide angle shots at high frame rates without restoring to a fisheye. There is no comparison to the RED or the Alexa or any other camera in my opinion. Check out some real world experiences here:
