The long-delayed Canon 300mm and 400mm f/2.8 lenses should ship in the next couple of weeks. I’ve received confirmation that at least one of the lenses will be available in the US the week of August 14.
Given that they were announced at the same time, it makes sense that we’ll see both of them then. Just like the Canon 8-15mm lens that shipped last week in the US, these telephoto lenses were scheduled to be available this month back in May when Canon set the ship dates.
It looks like things are getting back to normal on Canon’s production end. However, if you want one of these lenses, you should probably get on a pre-order list if you aren’t already.
