The photo was actually a tintype and is believed to be the source of myth that Billy the Kid was left-handed, which is supported by the portrayal in the image that his pistol is worn on his right hip with the handle reversed. Eric Kessler let Philip Bloom take his new RED EPIC for a spin and also volunteered to be a test subject while members of the Kessler Crane crew threw glasses of water at him. The result a rather entertaining slow motion mashup of Kessler’s abuse.
The Olympus E-PM1, E-PL3 and E-P3 are expected to be launched later this week. So, it makes sense that we are seeing a teaser campaign from Olympus, which is (right now) just a short video of a cloth draped over a camera. The corner of the fabric lifts up, revealing a tiny portion of what has to be a new PEN camera, and then the video cuts off.

While HDR photography has its fans and foes, HDR video is likely to fuel the fire even further if the tech in the AMP video camera becomes widespread and affordable.
The AMP camera claims to offer up to 17 stops of dynamic range as the result of capturing simultaneous video on 3 separate senors – with each set to different exposure values. The Gen II AMP camera stores raw data to SSD hard drives and, based on the company’s FAQ, it looks like they are working on increasing the memory buffer for longer recording times.
