
Nikon has discontinued its recently-announced Coolpix S6100 and Coolpix S4100 in Asia markets, citing that the earthquake in Japan has lead to production and supply issues with the camera. No word yet on whether there is a similar effect in the US and other markets for these or other Nikon models.

Canon may be making that radio trigger flash and DSLR with a built-in transmitter after all. Recall that I posted the details on Canon’s patent application in August 2010, which covered a radio-signal transmitter and receiver communication between DSLR and Speedlights.
Now Canon Rumors says its been told that Canon has working prototypes of flashes that are triggered via radio communication by an updated version of the ST-E2 transmitter. Presumably, any new flash from Canon that sports built-in radio TTL communication would unseat the 580 EX II as the flagship Speedlight in Canon’s lineup. [click to continue…]

B&H Photo has posted that the Zeiss Distagon T 35mm F/1.4 ZF.2 lens is now available for pre-order for the Nikon F Mount version. Here’s the link.
As is custom at B&H, when something is posted for pre-order, it generally means that stock is on the way and almost ready to ship out to customers. No word on the Canon version yet.
