Sony A700 Replacement

Sony Alpha Rumors claims to have a solid tip on the names and specs of the upcoming Sony Alpha DSLRs to be announced in August.  The new, mid-range DSLRs are rumored to include 14MP and 16MP sensors, with additional specs provided below.

  • A55 (translucent) 16MP 10FPS EVF-1.44M 1.1X magnification 95% AVCHD full hd
  • A33 (translucent) 14MP 7FPS EVF-1.44M 1.1X magnification 95% AVCHD full hd
  • A560 14MP 7FPS MF recording AVCHD full hd
  • A580 16MP 7FPS MF recording AVCHD full hd

The “translucent” spec is in reference to rumors of a pellix mirror system.

wow 10FPS! thats a big number for a mid range camera.

I wonder if it focuses while doing so..

I miss the EVF that was on my DiMage HI7. Would be very interested to see a new EVF on a DSLR.

Skeptical about the EVF…heard they cause loss in light & problem focusing as the membrane vibrates making lens hunt like mad. Wish Sony improve their support for new firmware upgrades…kinda sux at it, thinking of getting rid of mine & get a Canon!
