Adam, well.. people bought 2k L lenses and put it on Rebel bodies that worth about 300 dollars. I don’t see any problem.

This idea is great, it can be a break through for companies now to create a sealed system so dusts shouldn’t be a huge problem.

Let me get this straight – an $800 50mm 2.5 lens for a $500 compact camera.

That is to say one would essentially be paying $1300 for (what is likely to be) similar performance to the G11, but without the available range of focal lengths that camera offers.

Gee, where do I sign up?

Very cool idea. If the “lens units” are truly sealed then that could do away with the need for sensor cleaning.

Apart from that I’d be interested to see the back to get some idea of the user interface.

Kudos for trying something different.
