I believe that Microsoft is not putting down additional software and removing others is a part of the law suite raised against it.

TheJBJ,

I googled 'canon windows 7 compatibility' and got this in less than 0.37 seconds:

http://www.google.ca/search?q=windows+7+canon+compatibility&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a

I also check the PB on a regular basis, they have good posts, and bad ones, much like every other blog out there, mind you. When one comments on what looks like a bad post to express his/her disappointment, instead of quickly dismissing him or her as a frustrated dissident, ask yourself WHY that person did not like the post and WHY she took the time to actually comment on it. Not everyone is a troll out there nor needs to be treated as such.

I'm glad you see high standards in me, I'll take it as a compliment.

Thanks,

Albert

My guess is Microsoft didn't include it because of all the anti-trust stuff going on in the UK. I mean they have to make a browser ballot screen and a version without Windows Media Player to satisfy the EU (the government body not the people of the EU).

I think that the links from this post were very useful. The Canon PDF answered a handful of my questions in a matter of seconds that I have looked for online over the last few days. In fact, I enjoy 95% of your posts and check this site on a Daily Basis. I'm sorry that this wasn't up to Albert's high standards, but you're alright by me.

On a side note, I'm glad that MS didn't include the "basic" programs for movies, photos, and the others. For me, I end up spending endless hours taking all the FLUFF out of the OS when I install it. This saved me a ton of trouble. Also, they removed it from the disk for 2 reasons: 1. For Space, they wanted to fit everything on a single layer DVD; 2. Because of the countless requests to stop including needless software in their already HUGE operating system.

I'm wondering about the point of this post. To crunch it up real fast, it looks like Nikon and Canon's gear are compatible with 7 (is that news?), that the Photo Gallery embedded with Vista is not in 7(what use is it when photographers use Lightroom or 3rd party apps to sort and catalog anyways?) and that Adobe as well as other manufacturers offer support and compatibility with 7 (again, how is that news?).

I was expecting a brief hands on OS color management or some other tangible benefits.
