For me as a long time Canon user and Mark III owner the new Mark IV is a big disappointment. I was hoping for a new "game changer", not for a face lift.

The good thing is, I can save my money on that.

The 1D mkiv appears to potentially have a better AF sensor than the D3/s, which has a wider spread of more crossed sensor points. However there's nothing which distinguishes it as being superior on paper.

The sensor has the same pixel pitch as the 1ds mkiii/5d mkii sensor, so I expect sensitivity to be at least as good if not better. Not 102,400 better though.

I have to say that it's nice that Canon and Nikon have brought the fast PJ/sports camera up to this level. These cameras are simply amazing.

One Achilles heel for this new Canon though: 28 frame raw buffer? Nikon's is almost double. Will Canon offer an upgrade? And why isn't it standard if they do?
