Mastering the Nikon D90 News Release
Santa Barbara, CA—The Nikon D90 is the long-awaited upgrade to the popular D80 digital single lens reflex (DSLR) camera. The compact and lightweight D90 sits between the D60 and D300 in Nikon’s DSLR lineup, though many of its features come from the D300, its more expensive sibling.
In Mastering the Nikon D90 (Rocky Nook, $34.95 USD), Darrell Young provides a wealth of information and professional insights for owners of this powerful, new camera. Each chapter explores in detail the features and capabilities of the D90, surpassing basic user manuals by providing step-by-step menu setting adjustments coupled with illustrations, logical explanations, and personal recommendations for each option. Young’s writing style supplies the reader with directions in a friendly and informative manner, as if a friend dropped in to share his experience and knowledge.
An entire chapter is devoted to the exciting new D-Movie mode. The D90 is the world’s first DSLR with the capability to record high-definition videos at 24fps with mono sound, which opens a new world of possibilities for the creative photographer.
Mastering the Nikon D90 is the fourth volume in the highly successful series of Nikonians Press camera books.
Darrell Young (DigitalDarrell) is an information technology engineer by trade and has been an avid photographer for over 35 years. He has a rather large family, with his wife and five children, so he has a constantly interesting flow of photographic opportunities. In fact, his entire family uses Nikon cameras to pursue what has become a cohesive family hobby.
Darrell delights in using Nikon’s newest digital cameras but if pressed, he will admit to being a “closet” film user too. Living next to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park has given him a real concern for, and interest in, nature photography. Darrell loves to write, as you can see in the Resources area of the Nikonians.org community. He joined the community in the year 2000, and his literary contributions led to his invitation to become a Founding Member of the Nikonians Writers Guild.
