I have a new Pentax K-7 (quite a step from the *istDS) with the old Quantaray 70-300 AF/macro Zoom and the smc Pentax DA 50-200 AF--ultralite and fast compared to anything else I've used.

I use the Canon 100-400 LIS, with a 20D giving 160 to 640. Amazing shots can be had with this, but is too big for street photography! Otherwise I use my 70-200 F4.

I use Canon 70-200 L IS, in both f/4 and 2.8. The 2.8 i use for weddings but i prefer to travel with the 4. Both beautiful lenses but the f/4 is better value and MUCH lighter IMHO.

Actually, the Canon lens that everyone wants is the 70-200 f\2.8 IS USM, not the non-IS version you posted. But from reading your blog it would appear you're more of a Nikon fan, so I'll forgive you.

The Nikon 85mm 1.4 is known to be one of Nikon's sweetest lenses.

Like many, it is on my wish list.

I use a Canon 70-200 2.8. Great lens so far. In particular I used it at an air show last year with satisfactory results. I want to get in nice and tight this year so I am renting a 100-400. Excited to use it in a few weeks.

I'm using the Canon 70-200 4L IS and for me it's the best compromise between image quality, weight and of course the price.

I just bought the Canon 70-300 IS USM F4-5.6 and I'll be getting it in a few weeks. I read great things about the 70-200 F4 L, but I can't afford the IS version and I can't live without IS. I borrowed a beautiful Canon 200mm F2.8 L prime a few weeks ago and I had a really hard time with blur. At those focal lengths, a tripod is a must unless you have IS. I can only imagine what it must be like at 300mm!
