If you are a beginner, I would invest more time and money into learning (e.g., books, seminars, etc.) and shooting than gear. The 20D is still a great camera. I shoot still pictures; I don't have the hardware, software, or mindset to shoot videos. If I needed a camera for that purpose, I'd buy a camcorder.
