Infosync has posted a review of the Canon EOS 500D (aka Rebel T1i).

We loved he plethora of shooting features and bountiful external controls. The menus were top notch and the 3-inch Live View LCD rocked the block, but at $900, we have to wonder if the Eos 500D is a justifiable investment.

Cnet has posted a review of the Panasonic Lumix DMC-GH1.

If you’re willing to pay a premium to be on the cutting edge of digital photography and video, and as long as you don’t shoot sports or in dark venues, then you’ll likely love the Panasonic Lumix DMC-GH1.

Mastering the Nikon D700 is a new book from Rocky Nook publishers that covers the ultra-popular Nikon full frame DSLR.  The book retails for $39.95, but can be found on Amazon for about $26.

Cameras.co.uk has posted a review of the Canon Powershot A1100 IS.

The Powershot A1100 IS is an adaptable digital camera. It can handle most photographic opportunities. I was impressed by the overall look of the photos I took, especially the levels of sharpness.

Pentax K-7 Announced

Pentax has officially unveiled the new K-7 DSLR.  After a series of leaks, we now have all the facts on this new 14.6 megapixel shooter.  In addition to shooting 720p video, it offers an intriguing HDR mode, which produces one composite image from a series of 3 bracketed exposures.  The Pentax K-7 will carry a retail price tag of $1299.95 for the body only and should be available in July 2009.

In addition to the K-7, Pentax has also introduced two new weather-resistant lenses:  the DA 18-55mm at $199.95 and the DA 50-200mm at $249.95.

Buy.com has a good deal on the SanDisk Extreme III 16GB SD card for $79.99 as part of their weekly tech deals (it’s over $100 at Amazon).  This would be a good pick for those of you shooting video on the Rebel T1i or Nikon D5000.
