I was hoping they'd come out with a full 60x45 sized sensor and be done with it! It would finally bring to an end the endless iterations of these things-for us and for those companies who have decided to stay with the 645 size format. After all, there are a few of them: Hasselblad, P1, Mamiya, Leaf, Sinar...and maybe Pentax once again.

It seems that once the true full-frame 645 sensor is reached, then from that point forward Kodak, Dalsa and whoever else could(within the "restraints" of the 645 sized sensor) focus more on such niceties as pixel pitch, pixel lenses and so on, to perfect the 645 sensor. As it stands now, we seem to be subjected to too much marketing hyperbole with all these "new sized sensors" every other day. I for one, would rather wait a bit longer and just get to the full-frame sensor in one step and once there, work towards "perfecting" it.

For the few companies using 645 as their format, it seems that once they reach the end of the "sensor size" games, they too could also focus more on basic camera quality, physical and software interface issues and less on marketing "this week's news".
